TOP THINGS TO DO IN DA NANG, VIETNAM
Da Nang is a Miami or Vegas-esque beach town. At night, the city lights up extravagantly! Many of the buildings have lights all up and down them and they’re constantly changing colors. The bridges are lit up, night cruise boats are covered in lights, and walkways along the river also lit up. Lights, lights, and more lights!
During the day, the biggest attractions are the beaches - some of the best in the world. Long strips of fine sand, clean, and deep beaches. They’re the perfect place to laze around for the day and cool off in the ocean.
It’s situated about 1.5 hours from Hue (on the other side of the Huy Van Pass) and about 45 minutes away from Hoi An (on the other side of the Marble Mountains). Hence, many people will use it as a break point between their Hue to Hoi An travels.
Here are some of our top things to do in Da Nang:
> Khe Beach - We specifically allotted two days in Da Nang so we could get a beach day in. It was pretty fabulous. It was a super hot day, so we sat under some umbrellas, ordered a drink, brought our kindles, and alternated between reading and swimming. You can rent a chair (under an umbrella) for the day for 40k each. Each of the beach front seating areas also have menus if you’d like to order food. Prices are very reasonable, for example a local canned beer is 15k. We really liked our location. The people running the place were nice, they had a little showering spout we could use to rinse off, the chairs and tables were wiped down. Our area of the beach was also pretty quiet - which we liked. Just a few other couples. Further north and south looked a lot more crowded. You’ll also find the beach is pretty empty until about 3-4pm. At that point, locals and other tourists start to come in as the heat dissipates and the sun goes down. Note that there are also lots of water activities available if you’re inclined. You’ll see big signs on the beach stating prices for things like parasailing, banana boating, or jetskiing.
